The cottage boasts a thoroughly relaxing and quiet countryside location, and is less than a 10 minute drive to Oughterard Village, 25 minute drive to Galway city, and 40 minute drive to Clifden. An ideal location for exploring all that the Connemara region has to offer. Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, Glengowla Mines, Brigit’s Garden and Lough Corrib are all just a short distance away and waiting to be explored. Considered as the Gateway to Connemara, Oughterard is also considered to be the fishing capital of Ireland. Lough Corrib has an international reputation for its fine brown trout. Trout fishing usually commences in mid-May to June, during the Mayfly season. The village provides lots of places to eat and drink and has an abundance of shops which will supply you with everything you need for your self-catering holiday.
