Description Of The Area

Moyard is a beautiful, quiet village located between Clifden and Letterfrack in Connemara. The area offers a lot of scenery and things to see and do all around it with many villages being within easy access. There is a lovely hidden beach at Ross which is popular with bathers and water sports enthusiasts alike.
Moyard is perfectly located to explore some of Connemara’s landmark tourist attractions. Kylemore Abbey is only ten minutes away with its world class abbey, gardens and gothic church to explore. The Connemara National Park is only a few minutes away and is free to enjoy. With its Exhibition on the Connemara Landscape (multi-lingual), Audio Visual Show (multi-lingual), Picnic Areas, Nature trail and much more, it’s a must do on any trip to Connemara.
Letterfrack (7 minutes by car to the north) has many fine establishments to enjoy some lunch or dinner or why not pop into Avoca Crafts or Cottage Handcrafts just before Letterfrack Village to see some of Connemara’s finest crafts. With its scenic coast line, a day’s fishing can be enjoyed on “The Brazen Hussy” charter boat which leaves from Moyard. Hill-walking, cycling, fishing can all be enjoyed in the area and further afield in Clifden which is just 10 minutes by car.
