A luxurious one-bedroom boutique studio apartment with lake views located within Kylemore House, a beautifully maintained Georgian House overlooking Kylemore Lough, was built in 1785 by Lord Ardelaun, a member of the Guinness family. Situated on 20 acres of mature woodlands, Kylemore House was originally constructed as a shooting and fishing lodge. The house has been lovingly refurbished to a modern standard, while embracing the character of the property and retaining much of its historic fabric. It now houses a selection of apartments which can cater for groups of all sizes. Many attractions are close by, including Kylemore Abbey, just a two-minute drive away, and Connemara National Park and Killary fjord at Leenane are both within five minutes’ drive. Glassilaun beach at Renvyle can be reached in ten minutes by car. Fishing is available on nearby lakes including Lough Inagh and Kylemore Lough. A lake boat is available for fishing on Kylemore Lough by prior arrangement with the property manager. Walking trails including The Western Way are all within close reach. The Connemara Food experience (Local cuisine food trucks) is served daily close by. Guests are welcome to some seasonal vegetables grown on site. The nearest villages are Letterfrack, Tullycross and Leenane, all 10 minutes by car, and will provide you with all you need for your self-catering stay. Clifden town is a 20-minute drive and is host to larger supermarkets and services. A little further afield are Westport and Galway city – both within an hour’s drive. This is a perfect base for couples and friends seeking a luxurious getaway in a peaceful location, while still being close to walks, beaches, fishing, pony trekking, boat trips, and many more activities and attractions. Upon entering the apartment, you will find yourself in a bright modern combined space that includes a modern, well-equipped kitchen and dining area, separated by a half wall from the sleeping area. Timber floors throughout. The kitchen includes kettle, toaster, dishwasher, fridge freezer, oven, hob, and microwave, as well as ample storage and all necessary equipment including silverware, crockery, utensils, pots, and pans. The dining area is furnished with large comfortable dining chairs, ideal for use while watching the large flat screen multi-channel smart TV.
The sleeping area has a double bed and is surrounded by three large windows which flood the space with light as well as providing fabulous views of Kylemore Lough and the surrounding countryside. Hand-made window shutters finish this space. The tiled bathroom is located at the entry hall of the apartment and includes large shower cubicle, WC, and sink. Washing machines and tumble dryers are available for guests use in the communal laundry room on the ground floor of Kylemore House. Access to the apartment is via stairs. Please note there is no lift in the building. The property is electrically heated throughout. The property is unsuitable for babies, infants, and toddlers. No baby and toddler equipment available. Children 5 years and upwards are welcome to stay. There is no capacity for additional beds or cots. Towels and bed linen is provided. Wi-Fi is included. Electricity and heating included. No smoking indoors. Free parking on site.
