This is a spacious property surrounded by beautiful countryside, situated close to Recess village and the Connemara Greenway, offering a safe off-road cycling and walking experience in the local countryside, through wonderful woodlands, and along beautiful lakeside trails. The cottage promises a tranquil and peaceful stay while still allowing guests to easily explore the region. Ballynahinch Castle and gardens are just a short drive away. This is an ideal property for families and friends to share, when seeking a getaway in an idyllic and peaceful location, while still being close to nearby villages, such as Recess, Roundstone and Clifden.  Derryclare Lough, the Inagh Valley, the Twelve Bens mountains are all accessible within 10-15 minutes of the property. Gurteen Beach and Dogs Bay at Roundstone, Connemara National Park, Connemara Golf Links, Kylemore Abbey as well as many more white sandy beaches, are all just a short leisurely drive away.

The nearby towns and villages are host to a variety of restaurants, bars and cafés, offering something for all tastes. Recess village is just 1.4km from the property and offers a grocery store, post office, bar and restaurant, and a craft shop. Clifden town is just a 20-minute drive and is host to larger supermarkets, shops, and various services. The local stores will provide you with all the supplies you will need for your self-catering stay. Popular activities in the area include lake, river and sea fishing, walking, cycling, golf, pony trekking, and sailing. Many more activities are available in the wider region, including hill walking, kayaking, surfing, boat trips, island trips and much more.

This is a large and spacious holiday property offering all accommodation over two levels.  The ground floor accommodation includes large living and dining room, kitchen, utility room, three bedrooms, and bathroom. The upper floor houses two bedrooms and a large bathroom. The lawned gardens around the property are well maintained and the grounds are bordered by mature trees and shrubs.

Upon entry you will find yourself in the welcoming hallway. Just off the hall is the living/dining room. This room is very spacious and includes comfortable sofas, open fireplace, TV with Sky TV channels, large dining table and chairs. The living and dining area is fully carpeted. The room is flooded in natural light from the many windows, offering views of the surrounding countryside. The kitchen is located to the rear of the property and is very well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including fridge freezer, dishwasher, oven, grill, hob, kettle, and toaster. A washing machine and microwave are in the adjoining utility room, which also offers additional space for guests’ storage. The back door offers access to the rear of the property, where the washing line is located.  The family bathroom and three bedrooms complete the ground floor accommodation. Bedroom 1 is a double bedroom which looks onto the rear garden area, and includes an en-suite bathroom with WC, shower, and sink. Bedroom 2 is a double room with views of the front garden, and bedroom 3 is a twin room, also offering front garden views. All ground floor bedrooms are carpeted. A large bathroom with bath, shower, WC, and sink, complete the downstairs accommodation.

The upper floor is accessible by wooden stairs from the hallway and houses two bedrooms and a large bathroom.  The landing and bedrooms are carpeted. Bedroom 4 is a large bedroom with a double and a single bed, and bedroom 5 is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, including WC, sink and shower. The large bright bathroom includes bath, WC, and sink. The upper rooms offer elevated views of the surrounding countryside and woodlands.

The property is oil centrally heated throughout. Electricity, heating and wi-fi are included in the rental price. Baby cot and highchair are available. Towels and linens are provided.  Short breaks available. Sorry, strictly no pets. Smoking is not allowed in the property. Parking is available for up to three cars.

A security deposit of €200 is required for this property. Our reservations team will arrange this with guests prior to arrival. Pre-authorisation of a payment card will be required.
