This is a luxurious dormer bungalow located in Carna village on the Wild Atlantic Way. The property offers sea and mountain views and is ideal for families to share, or for a friend’s getaway. The cottage is just a short walk away from local shops, bars and restaurants, offering all the supplies you will need for your self-catering stay. Carna is a small coastal village in the Connemara Gaeltacht. Nearby beaches include Mweenish, Moyrus and Trá Mór, all within easy reach. The area offers a peaceful and tranquil stay, while immersing yourself in the heart of the Connemara Gaeltacht and its traditional culture. Old style Irish music, song and dance are traditional to the area and are a common occurrence in local pubs and bars. Saint Macdara’s Island is located off the coast at Mace head. Macdara is the patron saint of fishermen, and each July an annual pilgrimage takes place on the island where a mass and a blessing of the boats takes place. Nearby villages include Kilkerrin, Recess and Roundstone. Clifden town is 30 minutes by car and Galway city can be reached within an hour. Popular activities in the area include lake and sea fishing, walking, cycling, and sailing. Many more activities are available in the wider region, including pony trekking, hill walking, boat trips, and much more.

Ground Floor:  The large welcoming entrance hall leads to the open plan living room and kitchen and the ground floor bedrooms and bathroom. The living room area has large comfortable leather couches, wood floor, a wood burning stove and large flat screen multi-channel smart TV. Continuing through the living area there is one step up into the kitchen and dining area. The spacious modern well-equipped kitchen offers ample storage and integrated appliances, including oven and grill, microwave, dishwasher, and large fridge freezer. All necessary appliances are available including electric kettle, coffee pot and toaster.  A breakfast bar area and a large dining table and chairs completes this open plan area.  French doors open from the kitchen to the rear patio and garden. Outdoor seating is available on the patio, a perfect spot to sit and relax on a sunny day.

The remaining ground floor accommodation includes 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Bedroom 1 is a well-furnished spacious room with a double bed, and views of the front garden. It has an en suite bathroom with WC, sink and shower.

Bedroom 2 is a large room with a king size bed, an en suite bathroom with WC, sink and shower, and overlooks the rear garden.

Bedroom 3 offers a double bed and en suite bathroom, with WC, sink and shower.

The family bathroom completes the ground floor accommodation. It offers WC, sink, and shower over bath.

First floor: The open tread wooden staircase leads to the upper floor. On this level are bedrooms 4 and 5, a laundry room and an additional living room area.

Bedroom 4 is a very spacious bedroom with sea views, couch, super-king bed, fitted wardrobes, and a large en suite bathroom with WC, sink, shower and a corner bath.

Bedroom 5 offers a king size bed, en suite bathroom with WC, sink and shower, and has mountain and countryside views.

The laundry room includes storage, washing machine and large tumble dryer iron and ironing board.

The additional living room area on this floor has comfortable seating and a TV. This is an ideal place to relax and read, or a space for younger guests to hang out, watch TV and play games.

The property is oil centrally heated throughout. Electricity, heating and wi-fi are included in the rental price. Towels and linens are provided.  BBQ available. Travel cot and highchair are available. Short breaks available. Parking is available for up to two cars. Pets by request only. We will only accept one non-shedding pet.

 

A security deposit of €300 is required for this property. Our reservations team will arrange this with guests prior to arrival. Pre-authorisation of a payment card will be required.
