This charming traditional cottage is perched hillside on a spacious site of natural woodland at Scrahallia Cashel.  The cottage offers a tranquil and peaceful stay, while still being close to all amenities. Boasting countryside & sea views, natural gardens and a peaceful location, A short drive will bring you to the local towns and villages. An ideal location to explore all that the Connemara region has to offer. The house is a perfect base for exploring the region, or indeed, just for rest and relaxation.  Cashel Hill stands majestic at the top of the bay, and it is worth taking a trek up this hill to experience the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and breath-taking seascapes. Networks of lakes lie amid the bogs, ideal for trout fishing. The Twelve Bens and Maamturk Mountains are to the north and the sandy coves and blue waters of Bertraghboy Bay offer idyllic and tranquil scenery for all to enjoy. The nearest restaurant and bar are 2km away at Cashel House, and 3km to Johnny O Loughlin Bar at the Zetland. Ballynahinch Castle’s Fishermans Bar and Owenmore Restaurant are just 8km from the property, a short drive of about 10 minutes. Enjoy the wonderful woodland walks and Connemara greenway at Ballynahinch, a perfect way of surrounding yourself in the Connemara landscape. Roundstone Village is 11km away and offers a grocery store, restaurants, cafes and bars, and just along the coast past Roundstone are the picturesque Dogs Bay and Gurteen beaches with their white sands and turquoise waters. Clifden town, the largest town in Connemara, is 19km away, or approximately a 20-minute drive and offers a wider range of supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants, cafés, and services. The heart of the Connemara Gaeltacht can be reached by car within 20 minutes. Local activities include fishing, shooting, hill walking, pony trekking, golf, boat trips and much more.

The accommodation is over two levels and includes a kitchen, dining room, living room, three bedrooms, main family bathroom, WC and separate wet room/utility and an upstairs mezzanine area with work desk.  Wi-fi is available and the property offers all modern conveniences.

The welcoming entrance porch leads into a spacious living room with high wood ceilings, exposed stone fireplace, wood burning stove and comfort seating. The country cottage style kitchen with Connemara marble worktop is well equipped with all necessary equipment microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, electric cooker & hob and fridge freezer.  The separate dining room with original roof beams provides a perfect space for group meals and get-togethers.

The sleeping accommodation consists of two double bedrooms and one twin room. Bedroom 1 on the ground floor is a twin room with two single beds with access to the wet room /utility.  Bedroom 2 is double room with beautiful views of the countryside; patio doors lead to the outside terrace. Bedroom 3 is upstairs in the converted attic, this bright and airy room with king size bed benefits from Velux windows providing stunning sea views. Also, upstairs is a mezzanine area with work station.  The main bathroom downstairs is spacious and includes a bath with overhead rainfall showerhead, WC and sink. Also, downstairs is a large wet room/utility with shower sink, washing machine/dryer and separate WC.  Bed linen and towels are provided. Cot and highchair available. Smoking is not allowed. Utilities included. Wi-Fi included. Parking is available for two cars. Short breaks are available.
