Costelloe Lodge is an Edwardian country residence in Connemara with breath-taking views of the Twelve Pins mountain range – the Casla River and Atlantic Ocean. Under new ownership, the property has been lovingly renovated and restored to its former glory.

The house was designed for Mr Bruce Ismay, chairman of the white star and owner of the titanic; as a keen angler this beautiful location was Ismays chosen retreat following the sinking of the titanic. Landscaped gardens originally designed by Gertrude Jekyll offer a stunning palette of colour; the flora and fauna chosen to compliment Connemara’s natural beauty. This is a wonderful property and grounds for family gatherings, weddings and special events, or for travelling groups looking for a luxurious property close to fishing, golf, and many other activities.

The unspoilt Aran Islands lie in Galway Bay not far from the Galway and Clare coast and the Cliffs of Moher on the West coast of Ireland. Take a day trip and travel by ferry or air. Ferries operate to the Islands from the nearby harbour at Rossaveal, less than a 5-minute drive from the property. Flights to Aran leave from Inverin Airport, just a 15-minute drive away from the property.

Ground floor level: Breakfast room, large reception room, drawing room, dining room, living room, sunroom, games rooms, cloakrooms, kitchen.

First floor level:  8 bedrooms (6 en suites) – sleeps 16-18. Sitting room, Sun terrace.

The 8 bedrooms are as follows:
4 King-size bedrooms, two of which have private en-suite bathrooms, and two have a shared bathroom.

1 Double & Single (family room) and 1 twin bedroom, which have a shared bathroom.

There are also three guest toilets in the house. Outdoors are landscaped gardens, parking areas and garages. The property is fully equipped with all necessary equipment and appliances to ensure you have a great self-catering stay. Linens and towels are provided. Pets welcome by prior request only. Electricity and heating is metered on usage and payable to the owner/caretaker prior to departure.

A security deposit of €500 is required for this property. Our reservations team will arrange this with guests prior to arrival. Pre-authorisation of a payment card will be required.
